Launch Info

GA Tech Ramblin' Rocket Club (NAR Section #701) Launches at a sod farm in Lilly, GA which is about 2.25 hours south of Atlanta and GA Tech.

The launches usually occur on the 3rd Saturday of the month, weather permitting, and are co-launched with the GAMMA (GA Model Missile Association) club. This field offers a nice flat layout with short grass and we can launch anything from low power to high power up to Level 3 rockets. The current FAA waiver allows the clubs to launch rockets to altitudes up to 10,000ft AGL.

Directions to the launch site:
I-75 South to Exit 122 (Unadilla-Byromville Hwy 230). Turn right on Hwy 230 West. Stay on Hwy 230 about 11 miles to Byromville. Shortly after you pass the Byromville city limit sign, turn right at the next Hwy 230 sign. You will cross some railroad tracks and go through a small business district. At the first stop sign, go straight. At the second stop sign, turn left. The street sign will say DAVIS but you will be back on Hwy 230. Go about five more miles and the sod farm will be on the right. Turn on the dirt access road to the irrigation pivot in the center of the field. See Interactive Map Below:
