Apogee Targeting System

The apogee targeting system is composed of the pin drag mechanics, a control system operated by onboard avionics, and an onboard sensor array. The mechanical components of the system will be 3D printed to allow for rapid prototyping and verification. The control system will be designed with aid of MATLAB and Simulink. A schematic of the control system is shown in figures below.
Ideal values for altitude and velocity as a function of time will be calculated from simulation and from a series of subscale test flights. Success of the system will be determined by error in apogee altitude from 3000 ft AGL.
